Global-Pak Coronavirus Updates

For the past 22 years, Global-Pak has operated by a core value established by our founders: "take care of our customers and employees." This value guides us as we face the difficult challenge of responding to the Coronavirus (COVID-19), which the World Health Organization declared a pandemic on Wednesday.

Our hearts and thoughts go out to the people who have been affected by this unprecedented event. We appreciate the healthcare workers, local communities, and governments around the world who are working around the clock to contain this virus. Please know that we are vigilantly monitoring the COVID-19 situation and have precautions in place to ensure supplies to our customers as we stay in communication with our vendors around the world.

We have received several calls and emails from customers concerned about their supply of product. We can share the following information with you today: For bulk bag customers, we ordered extra inventory several weeks ago to add to our 4 plus million dollars of inventory and have plenty of product in the pipeline out of India. We also have approved sources in Turkey and Vietnam that we can supply bags from if we need to shift business. Additionally, we have manufacturing partnerships in Mexico to source interim product.  

What we will not exaggerate and what we cannot control is if the ports are affected either at origin or arrival. To be blunt, there is not enough North American production to cover everyone if the ports are shut down for any substantial amount of time.

What we can and will do is order extra inventory and have it in the pipeline for our customers in ensure their peace of mind.  If we are not currently warehousing safety stock for you, please reach out to our sales team. We would be happy to carry extra inventory for you in the short term.  We will also be expanding our in-house sewing production within the next few months, which will give us some additional flexibility to serve our customers in the long term should this situation drag out or something similar occur in the future.

Global-Pak’s operation is 100% cloud based, so all our employees have access to our CRM platform from any location. This allows us to have a work from home policy for everyone but our warehouse workers. We have a strong business continuity policy that is reviewed annually as part of our SQF program.  

Our team will continually monitor this situation and send out relevant updates to our customers as we find out more information. If we see any break down of the shipping channels, we will alert our customers as soon as we know. Please reach out to us directly if you would like to discuss the details of your product in particular, and we will do whatever we can to make sure you have more than enough bags when you need them.
