What will provide the best customer service possible? Jerod Carner and I ask ourselves this every time we ship out an order. First, we focus on two things: transit time and cost. We want to ship our products at the most efficient cost for quickest transit time and compare rates with the leading carriers before shipping out every order. Other factors we consider are the reliability of the carrier, the overall reputation of the company, and the existing relationship we have with each carrier. Freight sales representatives regularly visit our warehouse to discuss rates, lanes we frequent often, and any other type of freight related questions that arise during normal operation. We also work with carriers and customers who are willing to sacrifice a quicker transit time for a less expensive rate. By shipping these orders out in advance of their “need by” date, it can be a win-win for all parties involved. Over the last year, we have worked with our Global-Pak Sales Representatives to pair up deliveries on full truckload shipments to reduce freight costs for both our customers and Global-Pak.

At Global-Pak, we operate two tractor-trailers daily. We have three drivers who are licensed to drive, and we make deliveries to our local customers throughout the week. We plan our routes for our drivers not only to keep our customers’ production lines operating at their full potential, but to also fill our trucks as efficiently as possible in order to keep them running at the optimum rate. We are fortunate to have understanding customers who work with us in order to maximize the efficiency of our trucks, which is incredibly appreciated. By planning efficiently, we keep in mind that there may be emergency orders and our customers may need product as soon as possible. In order to accommodate our customers, we have multiple smaller vehicles that we can make deliveries to customers to keep their down time to a minimum.

We are fortunate enough to be close to various freight terminals and expedited shipping services. If a customer needs product and is outside of our regular Global-Pak truck delivery area, we hav e multiple options in order to get the product to the customer. Our goal is to ship out every order that is released to us by the end of the day. We do utilize a drop trailer for a local company at our dock and it has come in handy on multiple occasions for “must ship today” orders.

Jerod and I keep our minds focused on what is best for our customers and we will do whatever we can to get it moving!
