In November 2025, Global-Pak had the privilege of attending the EcoVadis World Tour in New York City, a gathering of sustainability, procurement, and supply chain leaders committed to shaping a resilient, responsible future. The event was a powerful reminder that sustainability isn’t just a trend—it’s a business imperative.

Why This Matters

EcoVadis has become a global benchmark for sustainability performance, assessing companies across environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. At the NYC stop, discussions centered on how organizations can turn complexity into opportunity—embedding sustainability into procurement decisions, managing regulatory risks, and accelerating Scope 3 decarbonization.

Top Insights We Learned

Sustainability as a Competitive Advantage

CEOs and boards increasingly view sustainability as a driver of resilience and growth. Despite economic uncertainty and “greenhushing,” companies are doubling down on ESG (environmental, social, and governance) investments because customers, investors, and employees demand it.

Procurement is the New Frontline

Procurement teams are transforming ESG from a compliance checkbox into a strategic lever. One creative metric shared: tracking the weight of sustainability criteria in RFPs (request for proposal) and tenders as a proxy for real market demand. This approach highlights how responsible sourcing is becoming a differentiator.

Collaboration Over Control for Scope 3

Decarbonizing supply chains requires partnership, not pressure. Tools like EcoVadis’ Carbon Action Manager help suppliers move from ambition to measurable action, fostering transparency and trust.

Regulatory Complexity = Opportunity

With frameworks like CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) and CSDDD (Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive) evolving, compliance can feel overwhelming. But the message was clear: use this moment to create value, not just meet minimum requirements. Companies embedding sustainability into procurement are seeing measurable ROI and stronger supplier relationships.

Why This Is Important for Global-Pak

As a plastic importer, we recognize the responsibility that comes with our role in the packaging industry. Attending the EcoVadis World Tour reinforced our commitment to reducing environmental impact, improving supply chain resilience, and supporting sustainable innovation. These efforts align with our core values of taking care of our employees, customers, vendors, and community, and hopefully making the world a little better along the way.

By integrating sustainability into our operations and partnerships, we aim to not only meet industry standards but lead by example—creating packaging solutions that balance performance, cost, and environmental responsibility.

What’s Next for Global-Pak

For us, these insights reinforce our commitment to responsible packaging solutions and sustainable procurement practices. We’re proud to be part of a global movement that prioritizes resilience, transparency, and impact.
