To All of our Readers,

The newsletter for this quarter will take on a different tone. It will be abbreviated and with sincere wishes to all that you have a Healthy and Happy 2018!

For those that might not have heard, it is with heavy hearts that we are informing you that John Smith has tragically passed on December 16th, 2017, after a brief battle with a staph infection.

John had been a dedicated and successful employee, just short of 12 years with Global-Pak. Not to mention, he was a friend and like family to all of us here for many years. John will be greatly missed by everyone.

He is leaving behind a wife, Krista and three children: Kristina, Meagan, and Brandon. He will be terribly missed by them and remembered as a great father and husband.

For those who did not know John, he was a person who loved to help others and truly took joy in helping family, friends, coworkers, and customers. He was a great family man and employee. John Smith was more than a coworker to all of his fellow employees at Global-Pak.

Upon hearing the news, we came together to see how everyone was doing, and Nick Good said best when he stated: “ it did not just feel like a co-worker left us, it felt like a family member.” When you think about it, often you spend more time working side by side with the people at work than you do your family. You enjoy their laughter, their families, their sense of humor, and their struggles. You begin to love your coworkers as brothers or sisters.

John Smith was not just an employee at Global-Pak. He was a friend and a brother who was loved, and he will be missed tremendously.

One of my favorite quotes is from Ralph Waldo Emerson. When I think of it, I have a handful of people that I can associate with the true meaning of this quote:

What is Success?

To laugh often and much;

To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children;

To earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends;

To appreciate beauty;

To find the best in others;

To leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.

John was definitely a success and will always be remembered as an all-around great guy with a wonderful demeanor and sense of humor.

We are not soliciting, but we were asked by many if they could donate in honor of John Smith. If anyone would like to contribute there has been a college fund established for John Smith’s kids, and donations can be sent to any Huntington Bank. The fund is at John Smith College Fund established at Huntington Bank with the address of

9636 Elkton Road

Lisbon, Ohio 44432.

There is also a Go Fund me account set up, and donations can be sent to either account  To date over 8,000 dollars have been donated to help with the college expenses for John’s three children.

Sincerely,

The Global-Pak Family
